Camino de mujeres, or Chemin des femmes, is a show featuring four unique voices, those of Marie-Neiges Harvey, Carmelle Gauvin, Judith Little-Daudelin and Mikhaëlle herself, exploring a repertoire of Latin rhythms, sung in Spanish and French.
Description
Mikhaëlle's mixed origins, born to a Quebec mother and a Chilean father, are a source of inspiration for the various themes addressed throughout this show.
The title track of the show also gives sound to the album that the band released in November 2023. This song pays homage to the maternal lineage and teachings passed down from generation to generation, highlighting women's connection to the land and highlighting the importance of their role on it.
Mikha.elles also offers a reinterpretation of two songs by Violeta Parra, a famous Chilean singer-songwriter and multidisciplinary artist. Among these works is Gracias a la vida, probably the most emblematic piece in his repertoire. At the same time, the group addresses universal issues affecting women, such as inequality, abuse and violence, thus giving a voice to sensitive subjects.
